Feature Ingredient: Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a spice derived from the inner bark of some types of trees from the Cinnamomum genus. The spice is used in both savoury and sweet foods including baked goods, drinks, and curries! It is predominantly produced by Sri Lanka, accounting for 80-90% of the world's supply of cinnamon. Cinnamon's aromatic flavour and smell come from the oil comprised within the bark - a pungent golden-yellow oil. It is widely used in Persian cuisines to make soups, drinks and sweets! In the US, cinnamon is commonly used with sugar to create flavoured cereals, sweet breads, and with apples. Today we'll be trying out cinnamon in the coating of french toast.

Such as tasty start to the day; balanced with the freshness of fruit, french toast is the perfect treat! So simple and quick to whip up, you'll be out the door in no time. Completely inexpensive and easy enough for anyone to give it a go. When I make this again, I'll definitely be using a non-stick pan - otherwise your toast will stick onto the pan for dear life. Otherwise, it's totally easy!
Happy toasting

I've always wanted to make French toast! What other fruit would you recommend to eat with the bread?
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! Mixed berries would go really well with it, or if you're craving an extra sweet fix, a scoop of vanilla ice cream would also be the go!
